They have formed a complete industrial system of production, supporting, testing, R&D and sales, and obtained more than 1,000 different kinds of products, including ATVs, go-karts, vehicles for senior citizens, the output of which accounts for 70 percent of the total of that of the whole country; and over 95 percent of its products are exported to 160 countries and regions in Europe and America. It boasted 900 motorcycle and supporting enterprises with an annual capacity of 4.5 million leisure sports cars at its peak. Last year, the number of enterprises in this region which were confirmed by the five Ministries, including the Department of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, to have the qualification of producing and exporting ATVs was up to 161, which also boosted the development of over 500 supporting enterprises like engine enterprises, assembly enterprises and clutch enterprises.   But influenced by global financial crisis, the exports of our city's leisure sports vehicles had been dropping for a while. Statistics shows that the export value of ATVs and non-road two-wheel motorcycles were respectively USD117.76 million and USD105.71 million in 2008 respectively but dropped to USD63.73 million and USD67.58 million in 2009, the decreasing altitude of which were 45.88% and 36.07% respectively. However, the export orders obviously increased this year with the recovery of economy.   "At this time in the previous years, we could receive orders of only USD 400,000 to USD 500,000, but this year we had already received export orders of ATVs and farmer trucks worth of USD1.5 million," said Dong Jian, the Board Chairman of the Zhejiang Shuangjian Fitness Apparatus co., Ltd. The Company's leisure sports car business was greatly influenced by the financial crisis, so it had changed to make electric tools for a while in order to survive. But their sports vehicle business is recovered this year and is looking so good that it has to update its equipment and recruit over 100 workers.   Similarly, the coming orders have made the General Manager of the Zhejiang Easy Vehicle Co., Ltd Yu Longhua feel ill-prepared. It previously had 400 long-term workers, but half of them were laid off when the financial crisis broke out; now there are only 180 workers left. "The export value of the first quarter was only USD750,000 last year, but we have already received orders worth of USD2 million in this January, which increased two or three times from that of last year," Yu Longhua said.   Facing the recovery trend, our city's 100 leisure sports vehicle enterprises are back to their core business one after another and have received a great number of orders. "We are busy helping enterprises readjust their product mix, promote the industrial level, boost upgrade and updating, and cultivate self-owned brands, so as to actively develop the international high-end markets," the responsible person of the Zhejiang Leisure Sports Vehicle Association said.
