Taiwan Car & Motorcycle Parts Companies Seek Business Opportunities in CQ Author: chinamotor - Source:CHINAMOTOR     Font size: A A A The car parts manufacturers on the two sides of Taiwan Straits held a trade fair in Chongqing a couple of days ago, at which 24 Taiwan car parts manufacturers negotiated with over 70 mainland car, motorcycle and farming equipment manufacturers, including Zongshen, Chang'an and Jialing, on matters concerning cooperation and trade. The mainland car makers showed their interests in purchasing car parts from Taiwan; meanwhile, Taiwan car parts manufacturers expressed their wishes of establishing factories in Chongqing. Wu Wenzhen, Organiser of the Taipei Delegation and the Development Representative of Taipei World Trade Centre, expressed that, the original target markets of the Taiwan car parts manufacturers were European and American markets, therefore, their export volume dropped at least 20 percent after the breakout of world financial crisis; however, the Chinese mainland car market still kept its energetic form compared with the slump in European and American markets. Therefore, many large-scale car parts manufacturers from Taiwan hoped to seek business opportunities in Chongqing with the aim of making up for their losses on the European and American markets. It is learned that the car makers and car parts manufacturers of mainland China and Taiwan made one-to-one negotiations. And the responsible person of the Chongqing Automobile Chamber of Commerce expressed that the Chinese mainland car manufacturing industry has faith in Taiwan-made cars and motorcycles. The Development Manager of the Taiwan car parts manufacturer Ruili Group Lv Zhengwei claimed that Ruili was about to transfer 65 percent of its production capacity to mainland China. Up to now, Ruili has already set up factories in Hainan, Wuhan and Kaifeng; now it is planning to invest USD 10 million to establish a mould-manufacturing enterprise in Chongqing. Besides these, the Taiwan Kenda Rubber Industry Company Limited, which has already set up five branch factories in mainland, also hopes to establish a new branch factory in Chongqing, Western China. Consisting of more than 1,000 car parts & accessories manufacturers, the Chongqing car parts manufacturing industry has a solid foundation. The President of the Chongqing Automobile Chamber of Commerce Fu Zhongqiu believed that Taiwan car parts manufacturers would boost the upgrade of the Chongqing motorcycle and supporting industry and raise the profile of the Chongqing motorcycle industry.
