The Chinese Motorcycle Industry Contends for the Championship of Most Brands Author: chinamotor - Source:CHINAMOTOR     Font size: A A A The Cihna Chamber of Commerce  for Motorcycle should play a role as a bridge between the government and the enterprises; the Chamber should not only show consideration to the overall national situation but also serve the motorcycle enterprises; it should strengthen the self-regulation of motorcycle industry and promote a fast and healthy development of motorcycle industry,' said Jiang Yaoping, the Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce, on the Second Member Conference & the First Session of the Second Term Council of the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle, which was held in Beijing recently. Jiang pointed out that the export volume of the Chinese motorcycle industry has been the number one in the world for many consecutive years; if China wants to transform from a trade giant to a trade superpower, every enterprise should follow the requirements of the Scientific Outlook on Development and innovate its development ideas. Now that the export volume of the Chinese motorcycle industry is the number one in the world, the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle should be the largest motorcycle organisation in the world as well. The Chinese motorcycle industry should not only have the largest export volume but also have the most brands. Currently, Africa is the largest market of the Chinese motorcycle industry. But the development perspectives of the African markets are not promising due to the quality problems of the Chinese motorcycle products. Although many motorcycle products are considered as counterfeit products by insiders of the Chinese motorcycle industry, they have the mark of 'made in China.' For this reason, Jiang Yaoping required the Chamber to carry out an in-depth investigation on the root of those counterfeit products. If the source of the counterfeit products was in China, the Chinese Government will crack down those enterprises; if the source was in foreign countries, the Government will ascertain where the responsibility lies based on the relevant international laws so as to protect the interests of Chinese brands on the international market. He emphasised that African people are our brothers, so we should not provide low-quality products to them. Jiang Yaoping claimed that the Chinese motorcycle industry will face more and more trade friction incidents and trade barriers in the future; the whole motorcycle industry will meet more difficulties in the future. Therefore, it is very important for enterprises and even the whole industry to optimise the industrial structure, improve the competitiveness of the products and implement the strategy of success through quality. Established in November of 2006, the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle is a pilot organization of the reform of the chamber of commerce under the Department of Commerce; it is the first national chamber of commerce initiated and democratically elected by the enterprises in the Chinese business field. At this conference, Chen Yongqiang, the General Manager of the China Ordnance Equipment Group Corporation Motorcycle Division, was elected as the second President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle; Chen Bingnan served for another term as the General Secretary of the Chamber; the former President Yin Mingshan was appointed as the Honorary President of the Chamber.           (From: the Online International Business Daily)
