It marked that the China South Industries Group Corporation Qingqi Industrial Park, the largest motorcycle production base in the North, was settled in Jinan.   Qingqi has Entered a New Development Stage with Over 50 Years Efforts The Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co., Ltd., established in 1956, is the first civil motorcycle manufacturer in China. Either the birth of the first civil motorcycle in China–BLACK CROW or the popularity of the first light scooter–TB50 is a special memory in the hearts of a generation. The Jinan Qingqi has been engaged in China's motorcycle manufacture although it has experienced ups and downs in the processing of growing up; this concentration built Qingqi into a personalised brand with its own brand characteristics in the motorcycle industry. Before 2006, the Jinan Qingqi was a municipal State-owned enterprise; in 2006, the China South Industries Group Corporation successfully reorganised the Jinan Qingqi and became the largest share-holder of it, providing an upgrade and development platform for motorcycle and related industries, with more development charm and actual meaning; in the same year, the Jinan Qingqi and Peugeot set up the joint-venture company—The Jinan Qingqi Peugeot Motorcycle Co., Ltd., establishing another international platform for the common development of the Qingqi and Peugeot. In 2008, the Jinan Qingqi Peugeot Motorcycle Co., Ltd. was formally put into production, and exported 730,000 motorcycles to Peugeot. In April 2009, the Jinan Qingqi successfully passed the brand independence access of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic China (MIIT). Now, the Jinan Qingqi has developed into a professional motorcycle manufacturing enterprise which owns three motorcycle manufacturing factories: the Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the Jinan Qingqi Peugeot Motorcycle Co., Ltd. and the Jiangmen Qingqi Huanan Motorcycle Co., Ltd. It is the only technology-leading enterprise in China which owns SUZUKI and the French Peugeot technologies, the world's main technology sources. Over a century's being eclectic and the absorption and development of Japanese and European technologies, the Jinan Qingqi has formed the industry-leading advantage in product personalised characteristics, GS and the power key technologies of scooters, laying a good foundation for brand promotion.   The Qingqi Industrial Park Broke Ground and Began to be Constructed The construction project of the China South Industries Group Corporation Qingqi Industrial Park is in important step for the industrial layout and the resource integration of the China South Industries Group Corporation, also one of the eight major projects of Jinan in 2009-2010. The overall planning of the Qingqi Industrial Park is to occupy a land of 1100mu (including the Jinan Qingqi Peugeot Motorcycle Co., Ltd. which has already been put into production); the first phase of the Qingqi Industrial Park, which is about to be constructed, has a total investment of RMB 768 million and a building area of 890,000m2. It will have an annual production capacity of 800,000 whole motorcycles and 1 million engines in the first year when it is put into production. The largest motorcycle industrial base in the North with an annual production of 3 million motorcycles and an annual output value of RMB 20 billion will be formed in Jinan in three to five years. It is reported that the China South Industries Group Corporation, which will integrate the three major famous brands—Qingqi, Peugeot and Suzuki, will not only become an important manufacturing base in North of China of the China South Industries Group Corporation, but also deeply impact the Chinese motorcycle market, forming the development pattern of four major motorcycle manufacturing plates in China: Chongqing, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Guangdong and Shandong.   New Starting Point, New Qingqi and New Glory If we say that joining in the China South Industries Group Corporation and cooperating with Peugeot provide Qingqi with two strategic platforms for development, then, the groundbreaking of the Qingqi Industrial Park will be a new starting point for Jinan Qingqi on the new platforms. The Vice General Manager Yin Jiaxu of the China South Industries Group Corporation pointed out in the speech: the China South Industries Group Corporation is one of the largest motorcycle groups in the world with the motorcycle production and sales exceeding 6 million units. It owns the famous brands including Jialing, Jianshe, Qingqi, Dayang and other brands, four joint-venture enterprises including Jialing Honda, Jianshe Yamaha, Qingqi SUZUKI, and Qingqi Peugeot, three national technical centres and one national quality inspection institute. The Jinan Qingqi, as the only brand which owns both the Japanese and European technology and product styles, plays a decisive role in the China South Industries Group Corporation. The groundbreaking of the Qingqi Industrial Park is not only an important way for Qingqi to develop rapidly, but also one of the key steps for the Jinan Qingqi to practice the "211" strategy of the China South Industries Group Corporation and to realise industrial upgrade. The General Manager Luan Jian of the Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co., Ltd. said that the construction project of the Jinan Qingqi Industrial Park will be a historic opportunity for Qingqi to realise leap-forward development. Jinan Qingqi will make use of this opportunity of relocation to further integrate resources, highlight its advantages, improve the technique and manufacturing level, establish lean production system, strengthen cost control and to improve the overall benefits; meanwhile, Qingqi will increase the integration of and input into the propriety technologies, speed up the market transformation of high-tech including lightweight, DT-I, EFI, water-cooled and other technologies, and build the core competitiveness with Qingqi's advantages and characteristics.
